Government of Telangana and Blaze sign MoU at Davos to launch Telangana AI Innovation Hub

The Government of Telangana recently announced the signing of a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Blaze at the World Economic Forum in Davos, outlining its intention to launch the Telangana AI Innovation Hub (TAIH), marking a significant step in the state’s ambition to become a global center for industry-driven applied artificial intelligence.

Under the MoU, Blaze will establish a research and development (R&D) center in Telangana state focused on advanced AI computing to support applied AI initiatives and government-led projects. The partnership is expected to enable applied research, pilot programs and deployment-oriented AI initiatives in line with Telangana’s strategic priorities.

The memorandum further outlines the proposed framework for collaboration with relevant departments and ministries of the Government of Telangana. These efforts may progress to pilot, deployment, or implementation projects, subject to applicable approvals, guidelines, and project-specific agreements.

It is expected that such efforts will be carried out through separate project-specific agreements or contracts that define scope, funding and deliverables in accordance with applicable policies and regulations, as applicable.

Building an applied AI innovation ecosystem in Telangana

Telangana AI Innovation Hub (TAIH) is envisioned as a platform to accelerate applied AI innovation across public sector use cases, infrastructure modernization, and real-world deployments. Through this collaboration, Telangana aims to combine advanced AI computing capabilities with domain-specific applications to support economic development, sustainability, and public service outcomes.

The Government of Telangana, through TAIH and relevant departments, will work with Blaze to identify, structure and advance potential initiatives for pilot programs and implementation projects, facilitating necessary approvals based on applicable state policies.
