When Google first introduced VIDS as a new AI-powered video creation tool for its workspaces, the possibility was clear. Last month we took a big step by integrating the VEO 2 models to generate custom video clips. But today there are new updates being rolled out. Google Vids is currently powered by VEO 3, bringing the ability to generate high-quality 8-second video clips with realistic, synced sounds and interactions within the service. This isn't just a gradual improvement as the quality of the video, which is dominated by the Web, is being shot in a storm. It's a big step up that can change the way people use VIDs for work presentations and projects.
Why does Vids' Veo 3 make it so powerful?
One of the key differences here is the addition of audio. Previously, we would get silent B-roll footage by generating video clips. Now with VEO 3 you can create short, bespoke scenes where the characters actually speak the lines they provide at the prompt. This will take Google Vids from a simple video assembler to a production studio powered by mini AI. Google has provided a great example of how you can use this.
- For safety training: You can encourage, “The workers wearing bright green neon safety vests say directly to the camera: “Welcome to our field technician training…” Get a custom intro video.
- For product demos: Imagine the prompt, “A spokesman who has a solar powered flashlight at a campsite at dusk says, “Hello, I'll show you how to troubleshoot common issues…” ”
- About employee announcements: You can generate a quick clip of a colleague walking through the office and share excitement about the profits of the new company.
The ability to generate not only visual scenes, but also the dialogue that comes with them, is what makes this so useful. This allows you to create custom video assets that were previously impossible without hiring actors, finding locations, or filming.
How it works and what to expect

The process sounds simple. From within Google VIDS Editor, go to the “Video Generation” icon in the sidebar, select VEO 3, enter the detailed prompt, and[作成]Click. You can get a preview and insert it directly into the video if you like it. It is important to know the current specifications of these generated clips.
