It seems that Google Search had an indexing bug last night. If your image snippets disappeared from Google a few months ago, it may not be a technical issue, but a quality issue. Glenn Gabe posted his adventures trying to track AI summaries in Google Search Console. Google posted an FAQ about AI summaries, asking why you can't disable them but not giving any real answers. Maybe Google is showing fewer links to Reddit and Quora. Google's Gary Illyes gave two reasons why the crawl spike could be a bad thing.
