Google Photos uses Veo 3, Google's popular Generated AI Video Model, to update its video-to-video functionality.
In July, Tech Giant showed users how to turn videos in Google photos into videos. As of Thursday, this feature is equipped with VEO 3.
Turning images into videos using generative AI has become a popular novelty for meme-turning static images of memes and realizing precious photos. Several AI startups, such as Runway, Pika, Freepik and Kling AI, were among the first to take advantage of the highly social media-friendly trends. Tech heavyweights like Openai and Xai took part in the game with Sora and Grok models. However, the VEO 3 is widely considered to be the most advanced AI video model, at least for now.

Using Google Photos means that users can[作成]Select the photo you want to convert to video in the tab and choose from two prompts: “Subtle Movement” or “I feel lucky.” Image and video models are expensive to run, which could explain why users have limited options than how to convert images. Other companies allow users to create videos with open-ended explanations, but they require a subscription.
Google Photo users are gaining a limited generation every day. However, subscribers to Google AI Pro ($20/month) and Google AI Ultra ($200/month) have higher daily limits.
In addition to the update launched today, Google Photos has existing photo editing capabilities using Generated AI. This includes remixing photos into new styles, creating and editing collages, creating video highlight reels, turning photos containing movie photos into 3D images, and animating still images into GIFs. All of these features are available in Google Photos[作成]Available in tabs.
