Google has expanded the new Create Google Photos tab to bring together editing and AI features. The biggest change is the addition of Google's latest video generation model, Veo 3. This could turn stills into short video clips.
This feature allows users to select a photo and select from prompts such as “Subtle Movement” or “I feel lucky.” VEO 3 adds Motion to generate video clips that are higher quality than Google's previous photo to video tools. According to Google, users have a limited number of generations each day, and Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra subscribers can generate more.
The Create tab will already concentrate other tools on your photos.
- Remix: Converts images into new styles (anime, sketches, comics, 3D animations).
- Collage: Build layouts from multiple photos using editing options.
- Highlight Video: Automatically generates a montage set for music based on search terms.
- Movie Photo: Add 3D moving effect to still take shots.
- Animation: Turns a burst of photos into a GIF.
For now, Create Tab and Veo 3 are only live in the US. For now, Canadians are looking out again, as Google hasn't said when it will expand to Canada or other markets. VEO 3 is available for Canadians with a Google AI Pro plan of $26.99 per month and the highest level of access for Google AI Ultra users, but at a price of $339.99 per month.
