Google has announced that it is rolling out AI Overview in the US, but many searchers want to turn off AI Overview, and some content creators want to opt out of AI Overview. Google also announced new AI search features that will be rolled out soon. OpenAI showed off his GPT-4o 24 hours before Google I/O and it was great. Google's search results have been volatile all week. Google admitted in February that it had de-indexed a huge number of URLs. Earlier this week, Google lifted some manual measures that exploited sites' reputations. Google said sites affected by the beneficial content update may recover after the next core update. Google is reading feedback about search quality issues and changes may be made. Google may also offer an automated action viewer in Search Console. Google also rolled out a web filter that only shows text links in search results. Google has lowered the search rankings of some deepfake porn sites. Google has closed a thread on its complaint forum about images not appearing in search result snippets. Google may offer new local ranking signals, service areas. Google Local Service Ads tests sending messages to multiple companies at the same time. Google Ads AI Overview will be available to select advertisers. Google Ads has changed how suspended accounts work. Google AdSense does not change your channel's reporting minimum threshold. That was the search news at this week's Search Engine Roundtable.
