Google is bolstering its AI games. This time, we are giving Hindi speakers around the world a smarter way to search. On Tuesday, the company announced the highly anticipated AI mode in Hindi. It was built on a customized version of Gemini 2.5, a big cutting-edge language model.
This new feature allows people to test Google with longer, trickier, more detailed questions in Hindi, allowing people to regain answers that are not only accurate but tailored to their needs.
The release follows the successful deployment of AI mode in English earlier this year. “We recently launched it in English in India and received great feedback on our ability to handle complex queries. We are excited to take the next step. Starting today, we are rolling out AI mode in Hindi for users all over the world,” the company said in a blog post.
Unlike traditional searches, which often require multiple clicks and individual searches, you will need separate searches to bring together information, but the new AI mode is designed to do heavy lifting for you. It can receive layered questions, break them down and provide a neatly packaged response whether you enter it, speak, or show the photo to Google.
Hema Budhraju, Vice President of Product Management at Search, highlighted how AI is reshaping search behavior. “AI can convert searches and ask something more convenient and easier than ever. I'm bringing AI mode into Hindi and looking forward to how people use it,” she said.
She also pointed out that this is not just a matter of cultivating words into a translation engine. “It's not just a translation to have the best experience for people all over the world. It requires a deeper understanding of local knowledge and context. Gemini 2.5's advanced multimodal and reasoning ability helps you better understand the language,” explained Budhraju.
In reality, this means that the system can grasp subtle details in complex queries. For example, users can ask about aromatic gardening plants, bloom at night, creating a certain kind of atmosphere. Google's AI mode responds with personalized context recognition suggestions.
This feature also supports multimodal input. This means that users can search by uploading images as well as typing and speaking in Hindi. This flexibility makes it easier for people to interact with Google in the way they feel the most natural.
For Hindi speakers around the world, this update marks a huge leap forward. It promises a smoother, more personalized search journey and breaks down barriers for those who prefer to engage with technology in their own language.
Ultimately, Google places AI modes as more than just a feature. This is to rethink what is searchable. By adding Hindi to the mix, the company is opening the door to millions of users. Millions of users can now explore, learn and discover in a language that feels like home.
