Golden Analytics released: You decide how much BI work is done by AI

AI For Business

Golden Analytics is officially launching today. This platform aims to fundamentally transform your analytical work. Less mechanical work and more room for insight. The Slider of Autonomy feature allows users to decide how much work the AI will do.

Golden Analytics today came out of stealth and announced an AI-native business intelligence platform. The company has also raised $7 million in a seed round led by investors NEA and Madrona, with participation from Breakers.

Behind Golden is Francois Ajenstat, an analytics veteran with 30 years of experience. He started his career at Cognos, led product teams at Microsoft SQL Server and Office, and served as Chief Product Officer at Tableau. Engineers who previously worked at Snowflake, Apple, Atlan, Grammarly, and Microsoft are also working on this new platform.

autonomy slider

With the autonomy slider, you decide how much the AI does and how much the AI does itself. Fully automated workflows for data preparation and visualization are possible, as well as hands-on exploration by experienced analysts. Golden promises to take you from raw datasets to shared dashboards in two clicks.

The platform’s AI system automatically interprets datasets, generates appropriate visualizations, and transforms raw data into presentable output. Users can interact with data through natural language, direct manipulation, or complete automation. “Ask for suggestions and make improvements yourself. Ask them to perform a full analysis and review before moving forward. The dial is yours. There’s no black box. The AI works with you, not around you,” explains Ajenstat.

“Analytical tools have been asking humans to adapt to software for decades,” said Aggenstadt. “We built Golden to reverse that. The software adapts to you, so you can focus on the insights, not the mechanics.”

NEA cited its previous investment in Tableau as the reason for its move to Golden. The platform is currently available through an early access program.
