The best part about this art being generated using an AI tool or site is that the SNES-like console in the image appears to be melting. In fact, GOG users discovered and started posting this AI artwork last week. For many, it was disappointing to see companies and creators who claim to care about preservation utilize AI to create simple store banners.
Perhaps in response to the uproar over the AI-generated banners, GOG forum user KosmicznaPluskwa, who appears to be a graphic artist working for the company, posted a lengthy response on the store’s forums on January 26th. KosmicznaPluskwa clarified that they are not GOG spokespeople, but the artists confirmed that the images that people assumed were machine-generated were in fact generated entirely using AI tools. artist.
