(WebDesk) – Google on Thursday announced new artificial intelligence features for Gmail. It's an effort by the tech giant to revamp its 22-year-old messaging app as the use of AI grows.
These advances include helping users compose messages, finding information buried in email inboxes, delivering daily to-do lists, and more. Gmail's new AI features will initially be available only in English in the United States. Some features are available for free to all users, while others require a G1 Ultra and Pro subscription.
Alphabet's Google is rolling out new email tools as it incorporates the power of its latest large-scale language model, Gemini 3, into online search and other applications. However, this push comes amid growing privacy concerns about the use of generative AI, including the potential for access to personal information.
With this new feature, all Gmail users will have access to a tool that Google calls “Help Me Write” to help users with their grammar and expressions. The technology analyzes a user's previous emails to better understand their writing style, allowing them to personalize their emails and suggest ways to respond to messages in real time.
Gmail also offers an AI summary feature that summarizes email conversations and highlights important points from long threads.
Both features are available in the web and mobile versions of Gmail.
