Ginko is described as the founder as the AI parenting platform supported by the first clinician, designed to help families manage screen time, social media and online safety.
The company says families encounter more than 500 screen competitions each year, but many pediatricians are not working on using the technology in daily consultations.
The platform was announced in a LinkedIn post by Ginko's leadership team, including CTO Maximilian Kirchoff. He writes:
Function and clinical monitoring
The Ginko app provides parents with 24/7 access to personalized evidence-based support. The system includes daily updates on emerging digital trends such as step-by-step playbooks, alerts for professional care, and new apps and virus challenges.
The company emphasizes that its approach is rooted in clinical surveillance, and that psychiatrists and pediatricians are involved in creating the platform. Ginko is HIPAA compliant and developed with input from the Clinical Advisory Committee. According to the founder, the goal is to move families “from screen horror to screen freedom” by providing practical and reliable resources.
In her LinkedIn article, co-founder Larissa May wrote: “Parents fight over 500 screen battles with their children each year. They chat with Google and ChatGpt for unreliable advice.
May is also the founder of #Halfthestory, a nonprofit dedicated to improving youth relationships with technology. Before launching Ginko, she has been working on building brands for companies like Kin Euphorics and Onerland.
“Our vision is to move every family from screen horror to screen freedom. This fall, I am on my path to shaking hands with my first 1,000 customers.
Ginko is available as a free download, and additional features can be accessed via a paid subscription. The platform includes resources for families with children with additional needs, such as ADHD and autism, as well as tools designed to help parents set up safer devices, manage online risks, and reduce competition.
