Google has announced that VEO 3, an advanced video generation AI tool, is now available for free for anyone. This information was shared by the company's CEO Sundar Pichai on his X handle.
If you've wanted to try out a generated AI video but are postponed for a high subscription fee, now is your chance to do it for free. Google has announced that its generative AI video tool, VEO 3, will be available to all users for a limited period of time.
The offer, announced by Google CEO Sundar Pichai, is valid until 10am on Monday. First introduced in May with Google I/O 2025, the tool was previously only available to paid users. To ensure a smooth experience for everyone, Google sets up a “TPU load” to provide uninterrupted access to free users.
Pichai's post states that VEO 3 is free for everyone this weekend, and users can create AI videos directly based on their imagination through the Gemini app. Google Handle has confirmed the offer, noting that the tool will be exclusively for Gemini Pro users on Sunday, August 24th after 10pm.
What is VEO 3?
VEO 3 is an AI video generation tool that allows you to create short, realistic videos based on user text prompts. It can generate a wide range of content, from animated shorts to cinematic sequences and storyboards. The user simply needs to enter commands explaining their ideas, and the tool generates a short video.
Google is also rolling out its VEO 3 Fast model in India, which generates videos at a faster speed. Android and iOS users can access it via the Gemini app. Google claims that VEO 3 is the most advanced AI video generation model available and is a direct competitor to tools such as Openai's Sora.ai and Perperxityai.
