My trainer at the gym gave me some tough love this week.
We are in the midst of a program called “12 Days of Suffering.'' Honestly, this is some of the toughest training I've ever done in my life. Every day, I can barely make it to the opening bid for a live show.
On Wednesday, I almost passed out on the rowing machine. As I lay on the ground, my trainer said, “No one will come to save you. Stay strong.''
That was a great motivator for someone like me.
And as we prepare to welcome 2026, we hope to provide you with similar inspiration. No one is going to save your portfolio from complacency with AI stocks.
How's the Oracle (ORCL) you bought in September doing? Are you still using the much talked about CoreWeave (CRWV)? In either case, I don't think things are very rosy. why? Because you didn't do your homework on these companies and just bought them because they were in the news because of AI.
Try harder! !

The reality is that to grow profits in 2026, you'll need to think beyond the obvious AI stocks. Beyond the highly acclaimed “Magnificent 7”. In addition to companies like Oracle, billionaire CEO Larry Ellison is also trying to help buy out his son's troubled Warner Bros. (WBD). We need to think deeply about where else AI trading will emerge and create value.
Write this on the whiteboard if you wish.
AI is having a huge impact within the enterprise. The result would be significant positive windfall returns for many of the other 493 companies in the S&P 500 (^GSPC).
Here are two examples of the work you need to do with your AI investments.
The desire to own the AI play has spread to more obscure names, including companies actively using the technology in the industrial sector. One such company is logistics giant CH Robinson (CHRW), which is led by one of the best CEOs you've probably never heard of, David Bozeman.
Boseman has spent more than two years leading a logistics company that has been in business for more than 120 years, after working in transportation at Amazon (AMZN), Harley-Davidson (HOG) and Caterpillar (CAT).
Since Bozeman's appointment, CH Robinson has focused heavily on AI to improve operating margins. Its stock price will rise 55% in 2025. For reference, Meta Inc. (META) stock is up only 11% this year. That's despite Bozeman saying on a new episode of my podcast “Opening Bid Unfiltered” (video above) that the economy isn't growing as fast and the freight recession continues.
