The event followed the 2025 Vietnam-France Leaders Forum held in Hanoi, co-organized by Vietnamese technology giant FPT, MEDEF International and Business France. This comes amid growing momentum for a comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and France.
Speaking at the forum, Vietnam’s Ambassador to France Trinh Duc Hai highlighted new opportunities for cooperation in technology, innovation and investment as the bilateral relationship strengthens.
He said Vietnam is a dynamic and open economy and an increasingly important growth hub in the Indo-Pacific region, while calling for stronger support for early ratification of the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA).
Benoît Closuret, Chairman of the France-Vietnam Business Council under MEDEF International, said Vietnam is emerging as one of Asia’s most dynamic economies, driven by strong growth, an increasingly open business environment and the ability to quickly implement large-scale projects.
He also said Vietnam’s decision to put digital technology, digital infrastructure and AI at the center of its national development strategy is a positive signal for the French business community.
Representatives of French institutions and companies noted Vietnam’s rapid economic growth, expansion of digital infrastructure, and strong commitment to AI and technology development. They also highlighted the country’s young, skilled workforce and growing attractiveness as a high-tech investment destination.
Participants focused their discussions on sovereign AI, enterprise AI adoption, and strategies for scaling AI transformation. Many agreed that AI is becoming a key driver of competitiveness in the digital economy.
The forum comes as the European Union accelerates efforts to strengthen its technological autonomy and AI capabilities through initiatives such as the “AI Continent” action plan and broader AI adoption strategy.
FPT said it is currently implementing digital and AI transformation projects in 30 countries, including Japan, the US and Europe.
Based in France since 2008, FPT currently serves as a technology partner for leading companies such as La Poste, Air Liquide, Quadient, Sagemcom, SNCF and Geopost. The company aims to become one of France’s top 50 IT companies while further expanding its footprint across French-speaking markets.
