The University of Indianapolis will host the first Indianapolis University AI Summit on April 9, bringing together business leaders, policy makers, and technology experts to consider how to responsibly use artificial intelligence in ways that benefit people and strengthen organizations and Indiana’s economy. The summit will feature global technology leaders, including Cognizant CEO Ravi Kumar S., who was recently named one of the 100 Most Influential People in AI by TIME Magazine, and Justina Nixon-Saintil, IBM’s Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility and Chief Impact Officer.
As artificial intelligence increasingly permeates the daily operations of businesses and nonprofits, many organizations struggle to translate pilot programs and experiments into tools that solve real-world problems and enhance operations. The theme of the first summit is “AI useful for people, organizations, and society.” Through the event, attendees will gain a better understanding of how AI can be used practically and responsibly in ways that advance technological progress without sacrificing human judgment or creativity.
“Indiana’s future competitiveness and reputation as a business-friendly state depend on how effectively we leverage emerging technologies,” said University of Indianapolis President Tanuja Singh. “Artificial intelligence presents extraordinary opportunities for Hoosiers, but it also demands thoughtful leadership and accountability. By bringing world leaders and innovators to the UIndy campus, we are creating a space for important conversations about responsible innovation that can strengthen our workforce and our nation.”
The conversation at the inaugural UIndy AI Summit will be headlined by globally recognized leaders shaping how AI is deployed across industries.
- Ravi Kumar S — CEO of Cognizant, a $21 billion technology company with more than 350,000 employees, was named to the TIME100 AI 2025 list for driving large-scale AI adoption across many industries around the world.
- Justina Nixon-Santil — Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility and Chief Impact Officer, IBM. We are leading a global effort to build an AI-ready talent pipeline and drive social innovation.
In addition to the keynote, the summit will feature moderated discussions and industry panels focused on the state of AI in Indiana, how organizations are redesigning skills and leadership for the jobs of the future, and how today’s businesses are applying AI to increase efficiency and competitiveness. Additional speakers and panelists will be announced in the coming weeks. Registration will also include a networking lunch aimed at fostering cross-disciplinary conversations among participants.
The inaugural University of Indianapolis AI Summit will be held on April 9th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Christel DeHaan Fine Arts Center on the University of Indianapolis campus. Space is limited.
