Prime Minister Modi's mother, Healaben Modi, passed away in 2022 at the age of 100.
After an AI-generated Deepfake video that was allegedly circulated through X's official handle, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother were circulated on September 10th, FIR was registered against suspects of Indian National Assembly leadership.
The complaints filed by Sanket Gupta of BJP Delhi Election Cell at North Avenue Police Station claims that the video undermined the image of the Prime Minister and his late mother, claiming it has become a “significant violation of law, morality and women's dignity.”
This case is registered in Sections 318(2)/336(3)/336(4)/340(2)/352/356(2)/61(2) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
Police said the issue is under investigation for appropriate legal action. Gupta also asked X for instructions to remove the content. This video shows Modi dreaming of his late mother.
However, Congress argued that the video was not rude to the prime minister or his mother.
