Artificial intelligence impacts every industry and individual, so everyone should have the opportunity to understand what it is and how to use it. To democratize information and empower people to shape their future, the University of Helsinki and her Reaktor are currently continuing their efforts to teach her 1% of the world the basics of her AI.
Our new massive public online course Building AI explores the real algorithms behind AI. Some basic Python programming skills are recommended to get the most out of the course, but exercises that don't require programming are also provided. The level of assignments can be changed during the course, allowing students to choose more difficult assignments.
Continuation of AI elements
Building AI is a continuation of Elements of AI, the world's first online course published in all EU official languages. Elements of AI has over 500,000 participants and was named the best AI course by Class Central and Forbes.
“Artificial intelligence is coming into our lives in things like streaming service recommendation algorithms and facial recognition technology. We want to make sure people are aware of the tools used to create AI-based systems. , we want to enable people to participate in this social transformation rather than just adapting to what the tech elites are doing,” said the computer science professor. Teem Ruth Graduated from the University of Helsinki, chief instructor of AI construction.
“Europe is only just beginning to realize how much is possible with AI. You can’t realize the potential capabilities of artificial intelligence without knowing the technology and the context. That’s why we “We want to give people concrete tools to realize the possibilities.” hannah hagstromBusiness Director for Reaktor AI.
This course is successful because it focuses on people who are often left out of technology discussions. Almost 40% of Elements of AI participants are women, and 25% are over the age of 45. Elements of AI also won the grand prize in an MIT competition. Inclusive Innovation Challenge 2019.
From Building AI, students can earn up to two ECTS credits by completing a course, depending on the difficulty of the assignment. Students have the opportunity to purchase an official certificate of course completion for 50 euros. No certificate is required as you can complete the entire course and earn credits completely free of charge.
