The future is not a mystery.
Generative AI will be introduced into just about everything.
Why? Machines will soon be able to see, hear, and interact with the world in real time. That will open the door to robotics.
That's why Elon Musk is trying to turn Tesla into a robotics company. He saw the future and realized that it would be easier to build robots that work in closed factories than cars that run on chaotic roads. The main challenge will be to build the robots and to source the raw materials (steel, aluminum, copper and other materials) to build them.
It's approaching rapidly, and I think the markets and just about everyone is suffering from normalcy bias and normalcy paralysis, which is a cognitive bias that causes people to underestimate the likelihood of a disaster or catastrophic event occurring.
I think the easiest way to imagine that is that even in the strongest markets, unemployment hits 20%. Jensen Huang tried to warn us about this earlier this week when he said that AI is coming to heavy industry.
This week also saw warnings about agent-based AI taking jobs.
I don't know why people ignore it or think they know more than the man who built the biggest company in the world.
What happens? At first, corporate profit margins soar as workers are phased out, but then demand falls as people run out of money. Unemployment increases by 20% due to a surplus of workers, and labor prices plummet. The political ramifications are unclear, but they will certainly be disruptive.
