In the clip under investigation, the Iranian flag appears to be blue, white, red at some point, rather than in its actual color: green, white, red horizontal stripes.
At 0:03, the police officer appears to be taking part in the protest, and the Iranian flag suddenly appears in his hands, making it seem unnatural.
These flaws are common features of AI-generated videos.
Pesacheck analyzed the video using Hive Moderation, an AI content detector tool. This gave us an 82.7% chance that the clip would contain AI-generated or deepfake content.
The video under scrutiny was shared on this Tiktok account with the text, “What's going on in Iran?” The translation is taken from Google Translate.
