What is the scope of the contract?

The Department of the Army announced Thursday that the cost-plus-fixed-fee contract includes the development and testing of AI and machine learning capabilities designed to process massive data sets and support a scalable infrastructure for next-generation military operations.

Work will be performed in Fairfax, Virginia, and contract activity is expected to continue through May 27, 2029.

How was the contract concluded?

The award was awarded through a competitive submission process with a wide range of government agencies solicited online and received 999 proposals. The Army Contracting Command, Adelphi Division, Maryland, will be responsible for contracting activities and will oversee contract performance. At the time of the award, the Navy was obligated to pay $5.98 million in fiscal year 2026 research, development, test and evaluation funds.

The award comes shortly after ECS was rebranded to Everforth ECS following parent company ASGN’s transition to the Everforth brand. The company has a long history of supporting Army AI initiatives, including a $190.2 million contract for AI mobility and agility in the critical DOW AI domain and an $85.4 million contract for AI algorithm development for the services sector.
