ERM, the world’s largest sustainability consultancy, has partnered with carbon management solutions provider Carbmee to help manufacturing clients achieve measurable emissions reductions across their complex value chains.
Despite increasing pressure from regulations, customers, and investors to accurately measure and reduce Scope 3 emissions, many companies still rely on estimates based on spend and industry averages. This limits the ability to go beyond reporting to use Scope 3 data to drive decarbonization actions that reduce costs, manage supply chain risk, and improve procurement and investment decisions.
Reducing emissions throughout the value chain
Carbmee’s AI-powered platform collects supplier-specific, product-level, and site-level emissions data at scale and identifies Scope 3 hotspots. Its analysis and scenario modeling capabilities help companies assess the impact of supplier switching and decarbonization strategies on emissions and performance.
Based on these insights, ERM designs and delivers targeted supplier engagement and decarbonization programs that drive commercial outcomes, from emissions-intensive materials and supply chain redesign to renewable electricity sourcing and power purchase agreements (PPAs). ERM also ensures that data, methodologies and mitigation pathways are aligned with key standards and regulatory frameworks such as the GHG Protocol, SBTi and disclosure requirements in accordance with IFRS.
Together, ERM and Carbmee provide an end-to-end solution that enables companies to move from insight to implementation, combining supplier-level emissions visibility with targeted decarbonization programs that drive action and better commercial outcomes across global value chains.
Olaf Schattemann, Global Services Leader for Sustainable Products and Supply Chain at ERM, said: “Companies that master Scope 3 will not only report emissions reductions and meet set targets, they will also build lower-cost, more resilient and more competitive businesses.”
“We look forward to working with Carbmee as part of our partner ecosystem to help more clients use reliable and auditable Scope 3 data to drive targeted decarbonization actions and improve business performance.”
Dieter Klockkauer, Executive Vice President of Carbmee, said: “By combining Carbmee’s AI-powered environmental intelligence system with ERM’s deep expertise in both decarbonization strategies and implementation, companies can achieve measurable CO2 reductions, lower costs and build more resilient supply chains.”
