Elon Musk’s bizarre obsession with actor Sidney Sweeney took an even stranger turn this week. It comes after billionaire Tesla founder and X Company owner Elon Musk used AI to create a video of her and shared it with his 230 million followers.
Sweeney’s likeness was used by the richest man on Earth to promote the latest version of its in-house AI on X (formerly Twitter) and its improved audio and longer video formats.
There is no indication that he was given permission to use her likeness in the AI-generated video, which essentially served as free advertising for the tool and was viewed more than 48 million times.
This is not the first time Musk, who is worth around $775 billion due in part to the AI boom, has drawn attention to this issue. christie Actor recently. Six weeks ago, he posted a meme saying Sweeney’s boobs must be causing his back pain, which many people called really “weird.”

The video, fabricated by Grok, bizarrely shows Sweeney talking to Bridgerton star Regé-Jean Page inside a spaceship, and begins with the actor touting the social media company’s improved AI capabilities.
This latest leap into dystopia begins with these words from AI-Sweeney: “Okay, let’s be clear: Grok videos are now 10 seconds long, and the audio is much improved, right?” to which AI-Page replies: “Yeah, quite…do you like it?”
While many paid X users who responded to the billionaire praised his AI tools, many free users had harsher words for the tech oligarchy. One person said his frequent references to the actor were “the way Elon Musk flirts with Sidney Sweeney.”
Another pointed X’s AI tool at the mask and changed the voice to sound like Sweeney was saying: “So, just to be clear, Elon admitted that Trump was in the Epstein file and then deleted the tweet?”
What makes this video even weirder is that it wasn’t created by Musk, but by one of the site’s users, and he doesn’t even mention Sweeney in his prompts to the AI.
This means that, like its owner, Musk’s AI tool Grok also has a penchant for A-list actors.
Here are the prompts used in Grok to get the original AI video:

The big upgrade to Grok comes just two weeks after Tesla’s CEO was forced to roll back key AI features that the app’s users were using to virtually undress women and create images of child abuse.
Earlier this month, California Attorney General Rob Bonta announced an investigation into the spread of sexual content on the platform, saying, “The large number of reports detailing non-consensual and sexually explicit content that xAI has produced and posted online in recent weeks is shocking.”
“This material, which depicts women and children naked in sexually explicit situations, is being used to harass people on the internet. I urge xAI to take immediate action to ensure this does not happen again.”
