Elon Musk announced a major update to the Grok Imagine Platform on October 5, 2025, with version 0.9 with faster, smarter, more realistic AI video generation. The timing of the release appears to continue in close proximity after the launch of Openai's SORA 2 on September 30, 2025.
Grok Imagine Update Highlights
Musk has used X to highlight the improvements and shared that the latest Grok Imagine Update offers instant text, images and video generation. “Fastest Text Generation – Glock 4 Fast. Fastest Video Generation – Glock imagines video generation in under 15 seconds. Fastest Image Generation – Scroll and Clock images are displayed almost instantly,” Musk shared in a re-shared post from popular account X Freeze.
Additionally, Musk has encouraged users to explore Grok's voice-first interface. By enabling “Open App in Voice Mode” via settings, users can enter the app and start talking immediately, allowing them to bypass typing completely. This feature is designed to make your app faster, more efficient and user-friendly.
Updated Grok's test imagination
After updating the Grok app, I decided to test Grok Imagine using the detailed prompts related to setting up Futuristic Robot. I changed the model from Auto to Grok 4 Fast Beta to app and added the prompts shown below. I then converted the images given in the results into video using the convert-to-video option only using the Groke Imagine app.

The results were impressive. Using Grok 4 Fast, the app created video clips with breathtaking realism. Every detail felt real, from shiny metallic robots to sparkling holograms. Lighting, reflections and textures become spotted, revealing that Grok Imagine can easily deliver high-resolution AI videos in professional quality.
