Elon Musk has confirmed that his artificial intelligence company Xai is developing what he calls “a great AI-generated game” with plans to release it by the end of 2026.

The announcement comes on X, a social media platform owned by Musk, and writes that “Xai Game Studio will release great AI-generated games by the end of next year.” This post presents the company's most direct statement to date about its entry into the gaming industry.

Xai, best known for its conversational AI platform Grok, is already beginning to recruit experts for the project. According to an internal list reported by Business Insider on October 3, Xai will hire “video game tutors” to help train AI models in areas such as game design, storytelling, mechanics and more. The job reportedly offers a fee of up to $100 per hour, indicating a significant investment in architecture expertise within the gaming sector.

AI tools are increasingly being used throughout the industry to generate dialogue, procedural environments and design elements, but fully generated video games have yet to reach mainstream audiences. Musk's statement suggests that Xai intends to achieve this milestone within the next 12 to 15 months.

Musk previously suggested ambition to deepen integration of AI into the creative industry, and the launch of AI-generated games shows a significant expansion of Xai's business beyond chatbot technology.

Given the history of pioneering projects across Mask's technology and entertainment, industry analysts suggest that Xai Gaming Venture is closely observed as one of the most ambitious initiatives that have not applied generate AI to interactive entertainment.
