PORTLAND, Maine, April 21, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — CardSight AI, Inc., an AI-powered identification infrastructure platform for the trading card industry, today announced the release and general availability of real-time video streaming trading card identification. This feature continuously identifies trading cards that appear on a live video feed. No capture steps, uploads, or manual triggers are required. CardSight AI is the only company in the industry to offer this functionality through an easy-to-use API product.
Live video is becoming one of the most important channels for how trading cards are bought, sold, and shared, with breakers, auction houses, card shops, and content creators moving their business to live streams. The operators behind these streams have long relied on manual search and memory to identify trading cards on camera. Streaming Video Identification is designed to accommodate this next evolution in the hobby, extending CardSight AI’s flagship photo-based trading card identification into a live video environment using the same industry-leading AI identification system.
The new streaming pipeline delivers the same rich trading card data that CardSight AI is already returning through its photo ID products. This data is powered by a catalog of over 8 million trading cards from baseball, football, basketball, and hockey. The ID is returned in real time the moment the trading card enters the frame. Graded slabs are also supported, returning the grading company and grade along with each ID for cards packaged by PSA, Beckett, SGC, CGC, or TAG, allowing for a rich and interactive on-stream information display.
“Video is becoming central to how trading cards are displayed, traded, and sold, and companies operating in that environment need an infrastructure built for video,” said Eric Nusbaum, co-founder and CEO of CardSight AI. “Photo identification continues to be the foundation of our business, and streaming video identification is a natural extension of that. This gives our partners a new way to integrate CardSight AI into live environments, delivering identification at the speed of real-world operations.”
Streaming Video Identification supports all major streaming protocols and is easy and flexible to implement.
– SRT for low-latency encrypted streaming. It’s compatible with AWS Elemental MediaConnect, Wowza Streaming Engine, and OBS Studio, and is backed by an open source alliance that includes Microsoft, Wowza, and hundreds of other streaming technology providers.
– RTMP for streaming software and live commerce platforms. Compatible with AWS Elemental MediaLive and Wowza, among a broader ecosystem of live broadcast tools used across the hobby.
– RTSP for IP cameras and professional video infrastructure. Compatible with AWS Kinesis Video Streams and standard commercial video equipment.
– WebSocket for browser-based webcam streams. Enables embedded identification in any web application without the need to install software.
This broad protocol support enables the application of streaming video ID for live auction and live commerce platforms, card shop POS setups, grading and authentication ingest, bulk collection digitization, and automated sorting operations. Removing manual searches from live video workflows reduces costly mistakes, speeds sell-through at live auctions and breaks, and generates structured trading card data for inventory, cataloging, and pricing systems. All IDs are matched against the CardSight AI catalog, so partners receive consistent results that support the applications and marketplaces they’re already building.
“Our partners are the companies that are building the live auction tools, breaking news platforms, card shop systems, and back-office operations that power the trading card economy,” Nussbaum added. “CardSight AI is here to provide the infrastructure that includes live video.”
Streaming Video ID joins CardSight AI’s suite of trading card infrastructure products, along with photo-based ID, graded slab ID, catalog data, and market pricing. Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, and One Piece are in active development.
