Serial technology entrepreneur Elon Musk has recently made some notable comments about the rapidly growing adoption of artificial intelligence software.
The richest man in the world spoke about a variety of topics during his recent visit to the Cannes Lions conference in a key interview, revealing, among other things, what he does with his money and saying that AI is already taking hold pretty quickly.
Musk acknowledges AI adoption is moving fast
In an interview with Mark Read, CEO of the major advertising agency WPP, Elon Musk answered a variety of questions, including what it meant when he told X advertisers where to go last November. Musk explained that he doesn't want to be blackmailed for money over his freedom of speech.
Musk clarified that the urge to take a long walk from the short pier was not directed at all advertisers, but at those mentioned above, including Disney CEO Bob Iger.
One of the big questions the tech billionaire answered was about the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence, with Musk revealing that he asked his college-aged son if many of his classmates were using AI to help them write.
Musk was probably talking about his eldest son, Griffin, who is 19 and studying at Brown University. Musk's response was “everyone.” Musk did not clarify whether the AI-based software simply checks texts for plagiarism or goes beyond anti-plagiarism programs.

In December, Musk predicted that within the next three years, AI will be better at doing everything humans can do, including writing novels as good as J.K. Rowling and discovering new physics.
What Musk is doing with money
Mark Read also asked Elon Musk some personal questions about how he would like to spend his money, or rather, what he would do with it.
Musk, currently the richest man on the planet with a net worth of $214.1 billion, thought for a moment before jokingly answering that there's a “big money chest” at the swimming pool. “You have to get some kind of exercise,” he added.
When asked what he does with his money, Elon Musk replied: “I have a big piggy bank and I swim in it. I need to get some exercise somehow.” pic.twitter.com/3z3gTJG3fL — Sawyer Merritt (@SawyerMerritt) June 19, 2024
The audience erupted in laughter at this response.
