Elon faculty and staff members have been named the first members of the Coastal Athletic Conference Academic Alliance AI Technologies Champion Network.
Dan Anderson, special assistant to the provost, and Michelle Lashley, assistant professor of strategic communications, are recognized as faculty who are “creatively and responsibly integrating artificial intelligence technologies into teaching/learning, research, student success, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness.”
As the use of AI impacts higher education, a structured and collaborative approach is essential for consistent, consistent, and ethical implementation. The AI Technology Champions Network Initiative is addressing this transformative challenge by recognizing leaders across the Alliance, including Elon, building a community of AI technology champions and preparing cross-institutional teams for upcoming extramural funding efforts.
Mr. Anderson was also selected as an AI Technologies Network Award recipient. The award recognized the pioneering student guide to artificial intelligence, an effort that engaged academics from 48 countries to develop a statement of principles that will guide higher education’s role in preparing humanity for the AI revolution.
