  1. How is OpenText ensuring trust and governance in AI technologies for India’s digital transformation journey?

In the constantly evolving world of technology, AI stands out for its potential to change the way we live and work. And much like innovations that have come before it, such as the internet, AI also presents a myriad of ethical considerations. Organisations are already grappling with how to navigate the complex landscape of AI and ethics to maximize benefits while minimizing potential risks.

Every organisation wants to leverage technological innovation to drive them ahead in the market and get a leg up over the competition. But as we innovate, it’s important to keep in mind the impacts we may be having on the people and the world around us. We must take responsibility to understand and prevent the negative outcomes that our drive to innovate with AI could have, while also asking how what we’re doing can contribute to the greater good.

As AI continues to shape our world, trust and governance is essential for fostering confidence in AI technologies. With 80% of organisations already exploring or investing in generative AI, transparent and accountable AI technologies are imperative for the future of customer support and customer success. Built from OpenText’s expertise in information management, the company’s latest AI-enabled innovations are poised to meet this need, providing robust solutions to fuel innovation and growth.

  1. How will OpenText’s AI-powered algorithms and predictive analytics contribute to IT sustainability initiatives in India?

Implementing IT sustainability initiatives can bring several obvious benefits to enterprise organisations whether it is in cost savings, resource efficiency, risk mitigation or regulatory compliance. And there are other less obvious benefits such as innovation in product design, process efficiency or technology adoption that ultimately could lead to new revenue streams or market opportunities, all brought through the pursuit of sustainability.

OpenText already offers a number of solutions to help organisations in their IT sustainability efforts. OpenText™ Vertica™, an analytical database that can store and analyse petabytes of data, provides OpenText customers with predictive insights based on AI and machine learning. Vertica runs on less hardware due to the optimization of products and data compression, resulting in a smaller carbon footprint, and it is also designed to efficiently use any computer power it is given.

Our HCMX FinOps Express solution helps our customers gather in-depth insights about the carbon impact of their IT operations across all their clouds. With this information, they can calculate what they need to do to reduce their IT’s carbon footprint – GreenOps – and meet their current and future sustainability targets.

More than 8,000 clients using OpenText Content Cloud. We help these companies digitise, collect, and store documents, saving over 25.2 million trees a year. Customers also digitise an incredible 3.3 billion fax exchanges annually using OpenText Experience Cloud, averting the loss of an estimated four million trees. Furthermore, our Trading Grid technology enables the digitalization of more than 33 billion paper transactions per year, saving 7.9 million trees and 2.69 million metric tons of CO2 equivalent in greenhouse gas emissions. Additionally, ROT (Redundant, Obsolete, Trivial) data is a problem that our OpenText Voltage platform solves, allowing businesses to drastically lower their carbon footprint during cloud migration efforts by two metric tons of CO2 with every terabyte of data.

In 2024 and beyond, the integration of advanced tools like artificial intelligence has the potential to further accelerate the adoption of IT sustainability initiatives, ushering in a new era of efficiency and environmental responsibility.

AI-powered algorithms will enable real-time optimization of energy usage in data centre and cloud computing environments, drastically reducing carbon emissions and energy cost. Predictive analytics will facilitate proactive maintenance of IT infrastructure, minimizing downtime and conserving resources. AI-driven supply chain optimization will streamline operations, reducing waste and environmental impact throughout the product lifecycle. Overall, these advancements in AI technology will play a pivotal role in driving forward IT sustainability initiatives leading to a more resilient and environmentally conscious digital ecosystem in the future.

OpenText remains dedicated to driving sustainability in the IT sector, ensuring that our solutions contribute to a greener and more sustainable future for generations to come.

  1. How does OpenText plan for expansion in India, particularly in the areas of BCP/DR, SaaS, and Cloud solutions, to tap into the country’s digital market potential?

Businesses in the India market are undergoing digital and cloud transformation where the protection of personal and mission-critical data is more important than ever. This is also fuelled by the government’s Data Protection Policy where compliance is changing the way businesses store, secure and protect their data on devices, networks, cloud applications and platforms.

Because of the digitisation movement, OpenText Cybersecurity, a division of OpenText, have seen consistent growth since 2017 across the small, medium, and enterprise (SME) markets, especially in areas of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery. India is a strategic market for OpenText Cybersecurity; we’ve made investments in local resources, launching new technologies in the market, including daily backup and recovery of data on 3rd Party SaaS applications, and the release of local cloud datacentres to comply with data sovereignty requirements. Part of our expansion plan is working with a network of partners in India to offer and deliver services that keeps organisations safe and compliant. OpenText is simplifying security for our partners that allow them to go-to-market and deliver a combined data security and data protection services while enhancing operational efficiency and reducing their overhead costs. This is through the release of Secure Cloud™, a multi-tenanted platform which allows partners to bill, fulfill, secure and protect customer’s data through a simple to use management console. One of the key differentiators is the ability for partners to procure and provide services for both email and endpoint security, as well as backup solutions under one console.
