Dubai Central Research Institute is the first in the region to introduce new artificial intelligence (AI) technology to legionella bacteria – A type of lung bacteria that causes some acute respiratory infections.

Engineer Hind Mahmoud Ahmed, Director of Dubai Central Laboratory, said: “This innovative method for detecting Lung Legionella is one of the latest methods globally certified by the European Water Testing Network. We have also obtained a certificate of accreditation from AOAC International.” .

“This technology is very accurate and takes time to produce results, typically 48 hours compared to 14 days with traditional methods.”

Explaining the new AI technology, Mr. Ahmed said that Dubai Municipality is developing digital infrastructure for laboratories and deploying cutting-edge systems to improve the overall health and safety system in the UAE. He emphasized his efforts.
