President Donald Trump posted an AI-generated video on Truth Social in which he appears as a doctor discussing the treatment of various celebrities who have criticized him for Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS).
The video begins with an AI-generated figure of President Trump wearing a doctor’s uniform and holding a stethoscope, saying, “Have you or someone you know been diagnosed with TDS? The symptoms can be unrelenting. Fortunately, I’m Dr. Trump and I have a treatment plan. Let’s hear what some of my patients have to say.”
The video features AI-generated versions of actors and comedians who speak as if they are suffering from and undergoing treatment for Trump Derangement Syndrome. There are AI-generated versions of Rosie O’Donnell, John Leguizamo, Whoopi Goldberg, Robert De Niro, Julia Roberts, and Edward Norton.
newsweek has reached out to representatives for O’Donnell, Leguizamo, Goldberg, De Niro, Roberts and Norton for comment.
The term Trump Derangement Syndrome is a derogatory term used to describe a negative reaction to Trump and is used by the president, his administration, and his supporters.
The video, styled as a medical information commercial, was shared on X by White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino Jr.
Towards the end of the video, the AI version of the president suggests a “simple” version of the cure. It says, “Turn off the fake news, say a prayer, and when you feel anxious, just do what I do and drink a Diet Coke. You’ll see noticeable changes in your life.”
The president is no stranger to posting AI-generated content. However, the video was released as the entertainment industry pushes for legislation to restrict AI deepfakes, which include the use of audio or video without the performer’s permission.
Trump’s relationship with these celebrities
Celebrities appearing in the clip have previously criticized Trump and vice versa.

Rosie O’Donnell
O’Donnell and Trump have been feuding for nearly 20 years. This controversy began in 2006. The ViewO’Donnell criticized Trump’s moral character during his tenure as owner of the Miss USA pageant, calling Trump a “snake oil salesman” and questioning his accomplishments. Since then, she has repeatedly accused Trump of being a threat to the country.
President Trump has repeatedly criticized O’Donnell, calling her a “loser,” “an out-of-control woman” and a “threat to humanity.” He said he is considering revoking her U.S. citizenship in 2025.
John Leguizamo
Mr. Leguizamo is one of Mr. Trump’s most outspoken Latino critics. He criticized President Trump’s immigration policies and rhetoric, saying he demonizes Latinos and immigrants. He has criticized the administration’s immigration enforcement and opposition to diversity efforts, saying Trump “doesn’t like us and doesn’t want us here.”
President Trump has not recently exchanged public personal comments with Leguizamo like he has with other celebrities.

As a co-sponsor of The ViewWhoopi Goldberg has regularly criticized President Trump, attacking his policies, rhetoric, and conduct in office. She accused Trump of being politically divisive and used the term “Trump Derangement Syndrome” to ridicule him, instead claiming that Trump was suffering from “Obama-Biden Derangement Syndrome.”
Speaking at a rally in Pennsylvania during the 2024 presidential campaign, Trump criticized Goldberg, saying he once hired her as a comedian for an event.

Roberts publicly supported former Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election and narrated an ad encouraging women to vote according to their beliefs, even if they differ from their husband’s political preferences.
President Trump said he was “very disappointed” in Roberts’ campaign ad, calling it “stupid” and “stupid” and something she would later find “disgusting.” He also questioned messages about wives hiding their votes from their husbands.

Norton has been a vocal opponent of Trump for years, including after the 2020 election, when Trump refused to concede after former President Joe Biden won, and made widespread claims of voter fraud that have now been disproved.

The “Dr. Trump” video has gone viral online, but it’s not the first time President Trump has raised eyebrows over an AI depiction of himself.
In April, the president posted an AI-generated image depicting himself as a Christ-like figure, which drew widespread criticism but later deleted.
Trump later said the image was intended to portray him as a doctor rather than Jesus.
“That was not a depiction. I thought it was me as a doctor who posted it, and it had something to do with the Red Cross as a Red Cross worker that we support, and only fake news could come up with something like that,” he told reporters outside the Oval Office.
