Text with Yes, an artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot that allows users to send messages to biblical figures, has grown rapidly since its launch, and its creators say that most users have embraced it despite skepticism and the call to blasphemous Asp.
“Since launching, most people have come to the app out of curiosity. It's incredible to see how many people want to try out conversations with biblical figures,” Stéphane Peter, CEO of Catloaf Software, told Fox Business in a statement.
The app allows users to text “yes”, “Moses” or other person and receive responses generated by AI that directly quote the Bible.
In one exchange shown on the app, “Yes” tells the user concerned about work, “without worrying about anything, and in all circumstances, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, to God, (Philippians 4:6).

Another prompt will provide advice on kindness.
The app was developed by Los Angeles-based Catloaf Software, powered by Openai's ChatGpt and founded by Peter, who came to the US from France.
Peter previously built lighter apps such as “Text from Text from Founder” and “Text from Oscar Wilde” before turning his eyes to the Bible.

“We were hoping for some pushback, especially from people who were concerned about AI taking on a role tied to faith,” Peter said. “But overall, the response has been overwhelmingly positive. The majority of users see what it is. It's a fun and accessible way to explore Scripture and spirituality in a new form.”
The app recently added AI-powered pastors and spiritual counselors.

“They quickly became a popular part of the app because they may be reluctant to give people a safe and friendly way to ask questions about their faith, the Bible, or life, and they may hesitate to raise them elsewhere,” Peter said.
Peter, who grew up in a Christian family but said “it's not particularly religious at this point,” added that some pastors provided positive feedback after the first version was released, but was not directly involved in the development.

The Vatican also warns that it confuses AI's output with true wisdom. In June, Pope Leo XIV told the Roman Congress that artificial intelligence is “an exceptional product of human genius,” but remains “a tool more than anything else.”
He warned that children and young people must be “helped and unhindered” in development, and emphasized that access to data should not be confused with intelligence.
The Text with Jesus is part of the growing field of faith-based AI tools, including Islam and Dean Buddy of Islam.
Critics call the app a blasphemous. In an essay in the words of the preacher, Minister Ken Werriber wrote that he “open my Bible and read it for myself” and questioned how accurate Jesus is. He pointed out the answers about same-sex marriages signed with rainbow emojis, calling it chilling the app's “Satan” feature.

President James Spencer of the Moody Center wrote in the Christian Post that “yes” “is less interested in fulfilling law and prophets than providing a tasteless answer to the itchy ears of 21st century users.”
Peter admitted the pushback but stated that his goal was not to replace actual missions.
“AI cannot replace the human touch of living faith, community, or mission,” he told Fox Business. “But it helps reduce barriers and stimulate deeper curiosity.”
The “Text with Jesus” app rating has a 4.7 rating with over 2.7k reviews on the Apple App Store.
“Read the Bible. Understand it. Meditate on it. Hide it in your heart,” Joel Berry wrote in an article that is not him. “In the world of grotesque AI replication of the human sinful mind, doing so has never been important before.”
