AI appears to be making its way into the 2024 presidential election.
Parts of the Ron DeSantis campaign tweeted a video that allegedly contained an image of President Donald Trump hugging Dr. Anthony Fauci. The images appear to have been created by artificial intelligence and did not exist, AFP first reported, citing media forensic experts.
The tweet came from a group called the DeSantis War Room, which news outlet Semaphore described as “the campaign’s primary vehicle in its Twitter battle with Trump supporters.” “This video contains real images interspersed with AI-generated images of President Trump hugging and kissing Dr. Anthony Fauci, unaware they are fakes,” the video said.
