The Micro 815 addresses modern IT challenges that weren’t as prevalent a few years ago. Rapid advances in AI and high-performance computing are crushing traditional data centers and pushing data collection and analysis even further to the edge. Dell addressed this issue with the Micro 815 by implementing Direct Liquid Cooling (DLC) to increase system capacity and power. Liquid cooling is a great way to cool very high density server solutions such as those in the 815, especially in harsh environments. Dell claims liquid cooling solutions reduce cooling energy consumption by 40-50% and improve power usage efficiency. We also offer immersion cooling and air cooling depending on customer needs.

Market impact
For many years, Dell has offered “composable” data center blocks in its modular data center family. While these solutions have been commonly used to support tasks such as military operations, industry, and 5G deployments, there are very compelling arguments in favor of them as an alternative to data center investments.
