For European founders, the urgency to build strong AI capabilities has never been greater. According to PitchBook data, AI will account for the majority of European VC investments in 2025, accounting for almost 40% of all European VC deals by Q3 2025, and this trend will further accelerate in 2026. That’s why Databricks is partnering with STATION F to enable European leaders to build AI applications that scale their businesses faster with Lakebase, Databricks’ serverless Postgres database built for AI agents, and Genie, Databricks’ AI agent. Employees can chat with their data and get trusted answers instantly.

“Today’s founders have a unique opportunity to use AI to scale at unprecedented speed. Many of our customers are already proving what’s possible with building AI applications at scale, including more personalized customer experiences, streamlined data-driven decision-making, and more,” said Nico Gaviola, vice president of emerging businesses and digital natives at Databricks. “This new partnership with STATION F places us at the heart of the French technology community and accelerates our goal to power the next generation of AI companies in EMEA.”
“We are very excited to begin our new partnership with Databricks, one of the most important platforms in today’s global AI landscape. Our founders will not only have direct access to our technology and team on campus, but will also be able to follow in the footsteps of Databricks’ incredible entrepreneurial spirit,” said Roxanne Varza, STATION F Director.
Empowering the next generation of startups
The partnership builds on Databricks’ rapid growth in emerging and start-up businesses in EMEA. Databricks has launched a dedicated startup team in the region, supporting pre-seed to Series B startups such as Linkup and Tsuga to build AI apps and agents on top of managed data foundations.
Databricks has helped many European companies, from early-stage startups to unicorns, impact their business with data and AI, including Flo Health, GetYourGuide, In the Memory, Mirakl, and Parloa. Many digitally native companies, like Skyscanner, have gone from experimenting with AI to full-scale operations on Databricks.
The company continues to invest in the EMEA AI ecosystem through Databricks Ventures, recently participating in Lovable’s $330 million Series B funding round to power AI-native application development. Additionally, EMEA startups like Applied Computing are actively participating in the Databricks AI accelerator program. This is a product development initiative aimed at strategically supporting high-potential startups building on the Databricks platform. Databricks also has a dedicated Databricks service for startups that helps startups build data-driven applications on Lakehouse foundations.
