Fluor has signed a multi-year agreement from American Centrifuge Working, LLC, a subsidiary of Centrus Energy. Under the agreement, Fluor will serve as the integrated engineering, procurement and construction partner for the expansion of the Low Enriched Uranium (LEU) and High Analytical Low Enriched Uranium (HALEU) enrichment facilities located in Piketon, Ohio.
The company, whose expertise has helped customers solve their biggest challenges, is currently playing a pivotal role in a project that highlights the complexity of mission-critical supply chains in the energy sector.
The contract supports a multibillion-dollar investment initiative combining public and private funds to install thousands of new centrifuges at Centrus’ American Centrifuge Plant. For the construction and engineering sector, this partnership creates a framework for managing complex, regulated material procurement amidst significant capital expenditures.
This highlights the expertise needed to ensure resilient domestic supply lines for advanced nuclear reactors and strategic materials like HALEU that are essential to energy security. Additionally, we will introduce the integration of procurement within a large-scale EPC framework that balances cost, compliance, and schedule under intense national security scrutiny.
