Nowadays, more and more Americans are using artificial intelligence to manage their health and wellbeing.
According to a national survey of 2,000 adults in the US, 35% are already dependent on AI, understanding and managing their happiness aspects. From planning your meals to getting fitness advice, AI is quickly moving from concepts of the future to everyday health tools.
As the crisis of national loneliness deepens, teens turn more and more towards AI for friendship

How Americans Use AI for Everyday Health
A survey conducted by Talker Research, Vitamin Shop's Annual Trends Report, shows how deeply AI is embedded in people's health routines.
- 31% use AI to investigate specific medical concerns.
- 25% rely on it for meal plans and recipes.
- 23% rely on AI for their new workout routines.
- 20% seek emotional or therapeutic support through AI.
That's not all. A quarter (24%) of users use AI to fact-check information they hear from doctors, friends, or social media.
What is Artificial Intelligence (AI)?
Many people trust AI for their health than social media
Surprisingly, trust in AI is rising quickly. Approximately 63% of Americans feel that AI can trust health guidance. This is more than people who trust social media (43%) or influencers (41%), but less than people who depend on doctors (93%) or friends (82%). And when it becomes convenient, AI earns points. About a third (31%) of users say they prefer to ask AI over Google searches. Most people (27%) say it's easier than getting advice from a medical professional.

What drives the rise of AI in wellness?
This trend is part of the bigger picture. 73% of Americans want to stay up to date with their latest health. 68% believe that AI will play an even bigger role in the future of wellness.
Other findings from the Trends Report are shown:
- 51% are more aware of peptides than they were five years ago.
- 66% add protein to their diet.
- 54% prioritize sleep and rest more than training.
- 44% have reconciled with aging, but are trying to fight aggressively.
These changes reflect a broader view of Wellness1, which balances physical, mental and emotional health.

Supplements and Smart Health Trends for 2025
Supplements are at the heart of many routines. Approximately 69% of Americans currently employ them. Also, 34% say it's easier than ever to stick to supplement plans thanks to new distribution options such as Gummies, Chews and Liquids. Meanwhile, experimental adaptive agents such as Shilajit have become popular among younger consumers. Innovations like NAD+ for lifespan and peptides for recovery are seeing an increase in demand. “AI is just a small part of the evolution of much larger wellness,” explains Muriel Gonzalez, president of Vitamin Shop.

What does this mean to you?
If you want to boost your wellness routine, AI may provide a useful starting point. Whether you need dietary suggestions, emotional support, or a new workout plan, these tools are becoming more accurate and accessible. Remember: AI works best when combined with reliable information, professional guidance and healthy habits. For an informed health decision, consider it as a supplement rather than an alternative.
