June 25 (UPI) — The prestigious Criterion Collection presents more than a dozen historical and contemporary films that foreshadow the development of artificial intelligence and its impact on humanity on its standalone streaming platform, the Criterion Channel.
The company was founded in 1984 to publish “important classic and contemporary films from around the world” and will begin offering films on July 1, according to a news release.

The film collection was announced at a time when artificial intelligence was making its way “out of science fiction and into everyday life,” the company said.
