Video generation via AI tools has become a fast-paced expectation from unique features. Currently, the majority of AI chatbots and image generators offer it, and one of the biggest names of AI is closely followed.
Perplexity, an AI browsing tool, has announced that it will bring AI video generation to its platform. I first tried this through the X page and asked the user to submit a request for the company to complete. Currently, only subscribers for Perplexity Pro (company $20 monthly plan) or Max subscriptions are deployed.

This can be seen when you are navigated to the Perplexity Upgrade page. Pro restricts access to video generation, while Max has unlimited access.
“We launch video generation in stump, which is what consumers see as something they really want. It's also something other model manufacturers already offer.”
“The core reason for providing it is based on taking what users want and looking at it from our perspective. Users don't just want to vacuum video generation. For most users, video is one of the many outputs they want.”
Starts video generation within Perplexity. That's what we see as what consumers really want.
Jesse Dwyer is confused
Dwyer went on to explain that he was watching a video that was confusing in combination with other tasks. Someone might want a video as part of a report they are investigating through confusion, or if they want to visualize an idea. It's not just fun to create videos.
Unlike chatbots like ChatGpt and Gemini, or even one of the many standalone video generators that exist there, Prperxity is sold as an AI search engine. They're closer to Google than most AI competitors.
Video generation is slowly unfolding, and embarrassment has yet to officially announce the feature, but Dwyer explained that it is already available to Pro and Max users in various regions.
Due to the confusion, we have already been able to generate images and will quietly announce the features in April. Unlike its competitors, Generation does not seem to be a big part of the Prplexity package.
How to use Perplexity's AI video generation
This tool is built directly into a bewildered model. It can be used in the same way as Perplexity image generation or most other video generators.
Signing a Pro or Max account simply makes you confused and create a video request query. For example, “generate videos of dogs surfing on giant waves.” There are no special settings that need to be placed or features that need to be activated.
However, this feature is only in the early stages, so it may not be available where you are still. Try it yourself and see what happens!
