Boxxe's new study found that almost half (41%) of British companies have a big knowledge gap about AI.
A survey by Technology Solutions Firm also found that over half (52%) of UK companies consider this lack of understanding to be the main barrier to AI adoption within their businesses. Furthermore, half of UK companies do not trust AI (50%).
However, even with skepticism around AI, business owners can see profits, with three-quarters (78%) viewing AI as a way to increase operational efficiency, with over half of the creativity and innovation being a key advantage.
Chris Carlisle, Business Consultant at Boxxe, said: “It appears that UK businesses and senior leaders want to adopt AI with perceived benefits in mind, but they don't know how to tackle that. This is interesting as the government recently announced an AI action plan to address the growing demand for AI professionals.
“Working with field experts such as AI consultants can support not only training but also business-wide implementation. Advisors or consultants can translate AI and its complexity into practical, chewable chunks for senior leaders while building a realistic roadmap.”
