Cloudflare has acquired VoidZero, a software vendor and company behind the open source JavaScript tools project Vite.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Cloudflare has committed $1 million to support the Vite ecosystem and help users maintain independence.
The acquisition makes VoidZero tools, including the Rust-based Rolldown bundler and the underlying Oxc toolchain, available natively in Cloudflare products, along with the Vite build tool Vitest test runner.
Cloudflare claims this addition will provide users with a “one-click deployment stack” to assist with AI-coded application development.

Founded in October 2024, the startup aims to address the fragmentation of the JavaScript ecosystem by creating an open-source toolchain for one of the world’s most widely used programming languages.
Global venture firm Accel has repeatedly supported VoidZero, along with Amplify Partners, Preston-Werner Ventures, and Prisma founder Johannes Schickling.
Its Vite+ service is at the heart of all its various tools and has around 5,000 stars on GitHub. The Vite plugin for Cloudflare is downloaded 13.9 million times each week, representing over 10% of Vite’s total weekly volume.
Cloudflare said the move “unifies the entire software development lifecycle” by formally integrating VoidZero’s tools directly into the Workers developer platform.
“Developers and autonomous AI agents alike will be able to move from idea to global production instantly through the native and pluggable Vite deployment ecosystem,” the company said in a statement. “Through this acquisition, Cloudflare plans to advance its project-centric development paradigm.”

The acquisition of VoidZero comes as Cloudflare continues to double down on its developer ecosystem for the rise of AI-native apps.
In late April, the company expanded its agent AI service to give coding agents a way to create a Cloudflare account and even register a domain. These updates added the launch of Mesh, a private network built to connect users, applications, infrastructure, and AI agents without exposing systems to the public internet or relying on VPNs.
Cloudflare leaders have previously claimed that employees run “thousands” of AI agent sessions every day and that the company is betting on AI-driven agent restructuring to “supercharge” customer value.
However, the restructuring resulted in 20% of the workforce being laid off, and CEO Prince said the company would consider hiring in 2027, with a focus on hiring people familiar with agent AI software.
