July 8 (Asia Today) — CJ Olive Young is expanding its artificial intelligence-based services in its stores to attract more global customers and improve the K-beauty shopping experience.

The company announced on Wednesday that it is operating its AI shopping assistant mainly at multiplex stores where there is a high proportion of foreign tourists and demand for shopping information is high.

AI shopping assistants allow customers to communicate with AI avatars in real-time through kiosks. Shoppers can view product information, inventory, store locations, and receive product recommendations based on skin type and preferences.

It supports eight languages ​​including English, Chinese, and Japanese, so even foreign customers can view our products without language barriers.

Olive Young said the AI ​​service is designed to improve both customer experience and store efficiency. The system can answer recurring questions about payment methods and tax refunds while employees focus on product consultation and customer service.

The company plans to use customer data to strengthen store operations. Olive Young said that by analyzing store dwell time and frequently asked questions, it can better understand the needs and shopping patterns of foreign customers and use that information to improve store management.

Olive Young is also expanding its AI interpretation services to address language issues when consulting with employees. The company claims that by adding AI technology to its existing portable translator, it has improved translation accuracy and expanded the number of languages ​​it supports to 38 languages.

Foreign customers can communicate with employees in real time through QR codes and tablets inside the store. Olive Young said the AI ​​interpreter service has been trained in K-beauty terminology and product information, allowing it to provide more accurate consultations about skin concerns, ingredients, product usage, and more.

The company has invested in shopping services for foreign customers, including foreign language guides, global payment systems, and instant tax refund services. Olive Young said the new AI-based store services will improve the shopping process from product discovery to consultation and purchase, strengthening its position as a global K-beauty platform.
