iQiyi provides in-vehicle entertainment solution for Ford’s new SYNC+ infotainment system powered by Baidu

iQiyi, one of the world’s largest online video services and sometimes referred to as the “Netflix of China” (the US streamer has no presence in China due to government regulations), is shifting its content production to AI-generated programming.

In the first reported move, bloombergthe company announced its AI-based Nadou Pro suite on April 20th. The company reports that this will facilitate nearly every aspect of film production, from scripting and storyboarding to final editing.
Gong said the platform will continue to produce professionally produced content, but will also recognize changes in technology.
“It’s a once-in-a-decade thing,” Gong said. “We have to go with the flow.”
The executive said the Nadou suite will feature an IP library that will allow third-party creators to access virtual assets and signed talent to generate content ranging from science fiction to anime. To incentivize creators of AI-generated content, iQiyi reportedly plans to pay them 20% of advertising fees and membership fees.
This strategy is similar to Disney’s near-term plan to invest $1 billion in OpenAI to power third-party content using Disney IP. Disney terminated the agreement after OPenAI shut down its Sora video platform.
