Openai's ChatGpt faced a widespread suspension on Tuesday, affecting thousands of users in India, the US and other countries. Users reported issues with Chatbot's core features, app features and API services.
Openai's popular AI tool, ChatGpt, which has gained huge popularity and traffic worldwide, suffered a major outage on Tuesday (June 10, 2025), making many users in India and the US (US) powerless (the platform is not accessible). The issue began and gained momentum after 2:45pm, causing a wave of complaints on platforms such as Downtector, detecting and reporting anger.
Most users are affected by ChatBot Core Features
In India, over 500 users reported cessation by the time of writing. The breakdown of complaints showed:
- 82% had problems using the main features of ChatGPT.
- 14% face problems with mobile apps,
- 4% experienced problems with API integration.
Meanwhile, in the US, over 900 reports had surfaced by 2:49pm (by the time of writing).
- 93% struggle with core ChatGPT features,
- 6% report app error,
- 1% face login issues.
Openai checks for service-wide disruption
According to Openai's official status page, several services, including ChatGPT, SORA and API, are currently experiencing increased latency and error rates. The company has confirmed that it is actively investigating the issue, but no timeline for a complete solution to the issue has been shared.
