ChatGPT Maker OpenAI Plans to Launch Marketplace for AI Applications

The company behind the popular platform ChatGPT is reportedly planning to launch a marketplace. The platform by OpenAI will be primarily focused on enterprise use. The Information reports that the marketplace will allow developers to sell AI models built on OpenAI’s proprietary AI technology.

This marketplace is intended to serve enterprise customers who often customize OpenAI’s ChatGPT technology for specific use cases such as fraud detection and market research. Models created by these developers may be made available to other companies through OpenAI’s proposed marketplace.

The report suggests that potential plans for the marketplace were revealed by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman during a meeting with developers in London. The marketplace could compete with existing app stores run by OpenAI customers and technology partners such as Salesforce and Microsoft. Additionally, it could help OpenAI grow its customer base and make its technology available to a wider audience.

According to The Information, which reported on these developments, two OpenAI customers, Aquant (manufacturer software provider) and Khan Academy (educational app maker), will offer their AI models powered by ChatGPT on OpenAI’s marketplace. He also said he might be interested in it.

Since its launch in late 2022, ChatGPT has seen significant adoption among businesses looking to automate tasks and improve operational efficiency. Providing customers with new tools based on AI software has become a competitive market as companies race to leverage the power of advanced Large Language Models (LLMs).
