CCTV Video News Agency (CCTV+) held an online workshop on Monday to guide media personnel from multiple African media through its self-developed ‘MediaMix’ intelligent media service platform.
Representatives from the Gambia Ministry of Information, Media and Broadcasting Services and five African media organizations, including Gambia Radio and Television Services (GRTS), Rwanda Broadcasting Authority (RBA) and Namibia Daily News, attended an online meeting to learn about the platform’s key features and demonstrate a suite of tools.
MediaMix is an AI-powered platform designed to enhance news production efficiency, content personalization, and cross-platform distribution, and aims to address some of the key digital and economic challenges facing media publishers in the Global South.
Monday’s online workshop focused on introducing the platform’s core functionality, operating instructions, application scenarios, and provided live technical demonstrations.
Attendees praised the MediaMix platform’s capabilities, practical value, and prospects for future applications. They agreed to strengthen regular communication and cooperation with CCTV+, share practical experiences and build greater consensus on cooperation.
This online workshop was the first training session held by CCTV+ under the recently launched Global South Media Partner Mechanism.
The Global South Media Partners Mechanism, launched by China Media Group (CMG) in November, aims to deepen cooperation among media organizations in Global South countries, strengthen the global South’s international discursive and narrative capacity, and promote a more inclusive and balanced global communication environment.
