Plum Guide’s short-term rental platform features 30,000 luxury homes, all of which are assessed for their design to meet the company’s brand’s high standards.

That evaluation was previously done only by humans. AI will do it now.

The company says its software developers trained an AI tool based on Plum Guide’s design preferences, with a 91 percent match rate between what the AI grading model determined and what a human would have determined. claims that there is

“It definitely exceeded my expectations. said Doron Meyacedo, CEO and co-founder of London-based Plum Guide.

In its early days, the company sent hospitality experts to each home to check aspects such as bedding, amenities, Wi-Fi speed and shower pressure, evaluating about 500 features. According to the company, about 1 in 15 applications are accepted.

The Plum Guide says it has had success leveraging human experts, but the process has been slow and limited its ability to grow. We wanted to discover if AI could complete all these tasks as well as humans.

“We don’t have an answer yet, but the results are pretty impressive, especially since things went so well last year,” Meyacedo said.

He said the cost of adding housing to the platform has dropped by 85% and revenue per employee has quadrupled. All of this was achieved while maintaining customer satisfaction and increasing sales, he said. Plum Guide now has nearly $100 million in revenue.

Besides ratings, the company now uses ChatGPT’s generative AI to create all written content for its listings. He said that using this tool reduced his time to build listings from 60 minutes to 15 minutes for him and resulted in higher sales conversion rates for those listings.

It’s not perfect though, and I’ve highlighted “I’m A Basement Dweller” and “The Dustbin” as two examples of rejected names that the AI chose for the list.

“As we all know, I think ChatGPT has definitely made things much more complicated possible. It’s far from perfect. rice field.

He added that as AI-integrated search becomes more powerful, the list needs to include more information about features to stand out. And with AI evaluating reviews, he believes only the best properties will succeed.
