Business Insider has launched a new audio briefing feature that provides an overview of the top stories that generated artificial intelligence.
The audio briefing feature is built into the company's AI-driven on-site search technology launched last year. The publication says it has driven more than 50% of readers clicking on articles in search.
“Audio adds a new dimension to journalism that speaks directly to our core ambitions of having a deeper relationship with our audience,” Chief Technology Officer Harry Hope said in a statement. “We are in the early stages of truly transformative product innovation, and the possibility of serving our readers and bringing journalism to light is just beginning to become clear. We are all in.”
Audio briefing allows readers to select topics for deeper diving or incorporate them directly into the complete story. The launch is part of an iterative approach to product development, with new features and options for personalization rolling out in the coming weeks.
Audio briefing follows previous AI-powered launches from Business Insider, including onsite search, smart paywalls and SAGA React AD targeting tools.
