The future of dating could be digital, with AI-powered matchmakers doing the heavy lifting, according to the brains behind a popular dating app. Bumble founder Whitney Wolfe Herd spilled the beans during her talk at the Bloomberg Tech Summit in San Francisco, hinting at how AI could reach women seeking connection. Ta.
Hurd proposed a concept that garnered some interest online, but it wasn't widely accepted. She envisioned a scenario where when an individual engages with a potential partner online, she could recruit an AI dating assistant to represent her.

“There's a world where your dating concierge can date other daters for you, and you don't have to talk to 600 people. They scan all of San Francisco and say, 'These are the three people you really need to meet.' It teaches us,” she explained during the summit.
But wait, isn't this a little similar to what Indian families, especially mothers, have been doing for generations? Before entering into a marriage contract for their child, they conduct extensive communications, meetings, and research to find the perfect marriage partner. Sounds familiar. And that's exactly what many Indians hilariously pointed out after Hurd's “AI” idea took off.
As some wisely pointed out, “This is actually the old way the 'AAI' system works in India, where mothers talk to each other and meet the prospective groom/bride first and then marry them.” That's what it means. ” Another person jokingly said, “Your marriage partner will meet other people's marriage partners and recommend the best marriage partner for you,” while another said, “Indians are already I invented this, and it's called arranged marriage.'' And a fourth exclaimed: “They're reusing our ideas.”
Jokes aside, Hurd further emphasized AI's positive potential, saying, “Our focus on AI is to help you build healthier, more just relationships. How can we actually teach you how to date? How can we help you to present yourself better? For example, in the near future, you can talk to an AI dating concierge and learn how to date. You might be able to share your fears: “I just got over a breakup. I have commitment issues.'' And it might also help you train yourself to think better about yourself. That might give you some productive tips for communicating with other people.
