Built on Ambiq’s AI SDK, neuralSPOT, HeartKit enables efficient real-time cardiac monitoring applications

Applications of AI

May 2, 2023 — Ambiq, a leading developer of ultra-low-power semiconductor solutions that multiply energy efficiency, has added its latest Ambiq HeartKit to neuralSPOT’s Model Zoo. This highly optimized AI model enables a variety of real-time cardiac monitoring applications, helping users and their healthcare providers quickly identify irregular events and take necessary action. increase. Like all Ambiq Model Zoo components, HeartKit includes scripts and tools to help AI developers add real-time he ECG monitoring capabilities to their healthtech applications.

Personalized health monitoring is ubiquitous due to the development of AI models, ranging from clinical-grade remote patient monitoring to commercial-grade health and fitness applications. Most major consumer products offer similar electrocardiograms (ECGs) for common types of cardiac arrhythmias. Ambiq’s HeartKit is a reference AI model that demonstrates the ability to analyze 1-lead ECG data to enable a variety of cardiac applications such as detecting arrhythmias and obtaining heart rate variability metrics. Furthermore, by analyzing individual beats, the model can identify irregular beats such as premature and ectopic beats originating from the atria or ventricles.

Carlos Morales, vice president of AI at Ambiq, said: “Highly optimized AI models help developers enable healthtech applications on his Ambiq Apollo4 Plus SoC in minutes.”

Combining a modern multi-head network architecture with Ambiq’s low-power SoC, the model is designed to be efficient, explainable, and scalable. Pre-trained models are ready to use on the Ambiq platform, but we also include software to train, transform, and deploy customized models as needed. HeartKit has been released under the permissive BSD-3 license for ease of deployment and development. Available as a technical preview to download and start AI development today.
