BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Universiti Brunei Darussalam School of Business and Economics (UBDSBE) hosted a forum titled “AI in academia and offices: Moving forward responsibly” yesterday at the Senate Room of the Chancellor’s Hall, Universiti Brunei Darussalam.

This provided a platform for meaningful discussion on the growing role of artificial intelligence (AI) in academic and professional environments.

As AI technologies continue to rapidly evolve, this event explored how these tools can be applied responsibly and ethically in education, research, and workplace practice.

UBD Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Noor Azam Osman attended as the guest of honor.

The event began with a welcome address by Dr. Warda Azima, Dean of UBDSBE, who emphasized the importance of using AI responsibly while maintaining critical thinking, integrity, and accountability among future professionals.

Organized as a joint initiative of the UBDSBE Strategy, Dynamics and Innovation Research Cluster and the Student-Led Project Management Module, the forum brought together academics, industry practitioners and students to exchange views on the opportunities and challenges of AI.

The half-day forum featured a panel discussion with invited speakers from academia and industry, followed by an interactive Q&A session.

Participants gained insight into responsible AI practices while engaging in positive discussions about the future of AI in learning and professional settings.

This forum reflects UBDSBE’s commitment to fostering important dialogue about emerging technologies and their impact on education and society, emphasizing the importance of balancing innovation and ethical responsibility. -Borneo News/ANN
